I Almost Feel Bad...

... Almost. This poor guy (imthothor). He's been playing relatively tight. VP$P about 25% at a full table. Max buy-in is $25, he has $47. I have a $21 after buying in for $10. I've been playing pretty straight forward Tight aggressive. I jumped back up to the .10/.25 recently, after spending some time at the .05/.10. One difference between the two is "players/flop." At the lowest limit, you can easily find 45% at a full table. People just messing around. Jump up one level and that drops down to about 25%-30%. I jumped into this table because it had the high side of 33%. It had a lower # of hands which meant it wasn't a short handed table that just filled up.

So I've been at the table for about an hour. Doubled my buy-in plus some (had about 25). I decide to call it a night, but then decide to play one more round. What do I do? I loosen up a bit. And I blow through some cash. I play a hand in late position and flop a set of 2s in the SB, no action. Very next hand, AA. No action. Tilting a bit since I'm down about 4 bucks. I decide to play one more round again. A mistake since I know I'm tilting a little.

I'm dealt A9 in the BB and just check with 2 other players in the pot. Flop is K96. I Bet it and take it. Get 22 in SB again, but it gets checked down. A Bet on the river and I fold. THen in late position, this hand comes up.

I feel bad for imthothor. He lost about half his stack he had been building up playing solid poker. Eight hands later, he loses AQ to AK on an AKx board. He went from $45 to $.60. Ouch.

He managed to build it back up to 8. Then lost a big pot again, when he called a raise from the guy on his right with 33. Flop was Q7Q. Raisor bet out the minimum and imthothor re-raised to almost 3 bucks basically putting the guy all in. He calls (all but $.20). River is an 8. All the money goes in, the guy had A8. Loses 1/2 his stack. He's finally sent home, tilty. Limps with 22, that gets raised to 1 then re-raised to 3. imthothor called all-in, and is up against JJ.

Sometimes it's not your night. It may have seemed like mine, but after failing to cash in 2 11+1 turbo SnGs, I profit about $5.00 for the night.
